This is in respect to the status of Greater Dickson Gas Authority's Year 2000 compliance
efforts. We are in the course of addressing the critical systems and devices for the
transition to the Year 2000. We are making every effort, and we feel
that we can
continue to maintain the service and delivery commitments to our customers during this
transition time and beyond the Year 2000.
Our plans call for us to follow the standard approach of
Producing an inventory of equipment and software that is
date sensitive in respect to computer chip function.
Evaluating the Y2K status of each item.
Planning any necessary remedial action
Carrying out the remedial planned actions
Contingency plan
At this time we are in the process of evaluating and
inventorying our automated/computer based systems; contacting our
vendors and suppliers to
ensure their products and/or services will function properly from January 01, 2000 onward;
and testing our computer hardware/software to see that all is Year 2000 compliant.
We do not foresee or predict any major complications due to the
computer chips issue internally. We have over the last
year identified/replaced a
significant number of issues that have either been remedial or replaced/or in the process
of being replaced at this time. Those acknowledged problems observed; we feel would
not pose any major threats to the continued product supply because product transportation on our system is not relied primarily upon any date sensitive chips. Of those areas
that do rely on date sensitive chips, manual override systems are in place to compensate
for those conditions.
